DIY Studded Jean Shorts

Items needed:
1 pair old shorts
Bag of studs (I got mine here)
1 Butter knife

Step 1: allign the studs in rows to map out where you will be sticking the stud through.
Step 2: Once you've done that you can start sticking the prong backs of the studs through the material
Step 3: Fold the prongs over into the center of the cone, the tighter the fold the stronger the hold on the fabric.
Step 4: Repeat repeat repeat
The finished product. I'm currently obsessed with wearing anything silver so I thought my JC stingers would be a good match for my new shorts.

☼ & ☽

Button Down Sun & Moon Shirt: Goodwill
Jeans: Forever 21
Shoes: EBay[similar here]
Bracelets: Captains Helm + Orange Street Fair
Sun Glasses: Target

In honor of the partial lunar eclipse/pink moon tonight I decided to post one of my favorite button down shirts ever. I found it in Goodwill around Halloween looking for a costume for my mother, instead I fell in love with this shirt. I like tying it a 90s knot-cropped fit, or layering with a cream sweater over it. Originally the shirt was part of a PJ set. The bottoms I plan to hem and wear like a harem pant because I cannot get enough of the print. We'll see how it goes!
The jeans from Forever 21 are high waisted and very comfortable, since finals are coming up I've been lazy and can't get out of my comfy jeans, I love the shape the pants give me.
The shoes were an impulse by off of EBay, I'm a huge fan of nude shoes. This pair runs really big and I even got a size smaller than I wear, so I just stuff some cotton balls in the toes and I'm good to go.

OC Fashion Showcase 2013

This past weekend I had the amazing opportunity to go to Orange County's Fashion Showcase. At the Westin South Coast Plaza hotel.

Me and my friend Cybil, designer of Julia Love, emerging designer winner.

Rhinestone Violin man played Adele and Rhianna.

Me & Cybil

Mike & Cybil

Dress: Vintage
Faux Fur Hoodie: H&M
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Woven Lita

The show was fantastic, I'm so glad Cybil invited me. I got to sit front row and watch all the amazing designs come down the runway. My favorites were of course, Julia Love and 1III7. I loved how Julia Love's collection was military inspired line and the fact that modles and designer were wearing dog tags. The red dress with a train and the long white ombre grey train dress were my favorites, so vampy. Makes me I wish I had a place to wear a gown like that. 1III7 the crochet gowns with pearl body jewelry were so detailed my eyes were enamored by the opulance of it all.
Check em out:

I wore a vintage lace dress that I picked up at deelux a while back, the faux fur jacket kept me warm all through the night and my Lita's are one of my most comfortable shoes that give me all the height I wish I had.    Thank you to Cybil and my wonderful date/photographer for such a great night, more to come soon.
