One Band Tee To Rule Them All

Good Morning sunshine, it's that time of year again, back to school. For my back to school post I decided to center it around my favorite Nirvana band tee. If I'm being perfectly honest I'm the kind of girl who will role out of bed in the morning and wear the band tee I slept in to school, quickly put on my make-up and roll out of bed. It may be gross but, I love sleep and I hate waking up! This post is for all you lazy girls out there who want some quick ideas to go from this:

To something more like this:

This look incorporates a lot of layering, first I put on a American Apparel tube dress than the sheer sleveless button down from Forever 21, and over that I wore my Nirvana tee. The necklace I wearing is a Ruby in Fuschite tounge pendant I got at HealingCrystals.com.

My witchy looking shoes were purchased at Captain's Helm

Look 2:

Cropped Moto Jacket: H&M
Nirvana Band Tee
Levi's Spikey DIY shorts

This look is one that I love with a high messy bun. I have long hair and sometimes it's nice to have my mane out of my face, or not.

Riding Boots: Thrifted @ Captain's Helm

Look 3:

Red, yellow, and black flannel: Thrifted @ Dee*Lux
Riding Faux leopard leggins: Forver 21
This look is perfect for tossing on and going, the flannel will keep you warm in airconditioned classroom and looks efortlessly cool and totally 90s.

Jeffrey Campbell Stingers Silver: Urban Outfitters
(These are silver in real life but photographed gold for some reason.)

Hope this gives you some idea of how to dress up or down a band tee for school.
Good luck~

DIY Lyanna Stark Winter Rose Flower Crown

Here's what you'll need:

a pair of scissors

hot glue guns and glue sticks
Flowers of your choice, and a ribbon to fit your head
Cut the flower of your choice from the stems, I chose some big blue roses. They don't exsist in nature and are a sign of rare beauty, plus they screamed Lyanna Stark to me.(Specifically, her crown of blue winter roses, when she was named Queen of love and beauty by Rhaegar, hmn possible cosplay/costume? Anyone else a Game of Thrones fan?)

If you have any portruding ends like I did you'll have to snip them off as well so, you have a flat surface for adhereing to the ribbon.

Apply glue

You can see where I sloppily applied glue, it doesn't matter if its pretty so long as it covers a good ammount of the flower to hold it in place and not flop over. I like to get a bit of the back most petals and overlap them to great a gorgeous full look.

Make sure you place the flower buds as close together, even overlapping petals if need be, you do not want to see the ribbon inbetween the flower buds.
Wait a night to dry, and viola!
Finished product:

Here's a quick OOTD with the crown:
It was a lacey flower crowny spiked shorts kinda day.

Factory Girl

T-shirt: Marvel
Faux Fur Hoodie: H&M
Shorts: DIY High Waisted Shorts
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell Tardys Red
Socks: Target
Copper Turquoise Earring: from my mama :)

This is a oldie but a goodie. Once again I cannot get my red Jeffrey Campbell Tardys off of my feet, they give me so much height and are so comfortable! I can stomp around town and my feet are fine. The shorts originally were high waisted pants I never wore, so I turned them into shorts and now I cannot stop wearing them. They fit my fetish for bottoms with button front closures. They class up any outfit, even an old torn up Marvel shirt like I'm wearing above. The shirt was purchased in the dude's section of Target and I hacket at it with some scissors and slept in it for months before it got the worn in vibe I like in all my tees. My favorite Marvel heros are Spiderman, and Wolverine. I also bought the cherry socks at Target, I love mixing prints, it gives me a very 60s pop art feel to have so many primary colors together clashing it out.
The jewelry is from random jewelry stands and hand me downs from my mom, all the pieces have turquoise in them, which I love as a contrast to the red tones in the outfit.

r-r-remix

This is a departure from the usual stuff I post, but with the help of my wonderful boyfriend HT, I re-did my room! I'm so happy with the results. It was feeling really cramped and I needed a change in my living space. Originally I painted the room aqua blue, and while it was calming, it clashed with the carpet and showed dust like crazy, I repainted the walls Swiss Coffee, my favorite off white shade. Then HT and his muscles moved my furniture around and ta-da new room.
The duvet cover  and faux fur throw rug are from IKEA, the painting over my bed is 'the four flowers' by Alfons Mucha, here's a larger version:

The furniture was picked up here at there, adjustable shelves from organized living, desk from JC Penny home, and my bed frame I have no clue. All in all I needed this change, the space is more open, brighter and cleaner.
